As a former Arizona State Women’s Basketball player my body has been through its fair share of wear and tear. I have suffered from plantar fasciitis (extreme heel pain) for the past 4 years. In my effort to eliminate this excruciating pain I have tried multiple treatments including, 3 cortisone injections, extracorporeal shock wave treatments, active release therapy and as a last resort, plantar fascia release surgery. After each of these treatments I spent months in rehab and a lot of money on special insoles, night splints, and walking boots. The problem with all of the procedures was the pain increased before getting better and eventually came back full force. After expressing my on going struggle with plantar fasciitis to Lori Herderson (Owner of South Bay Athletic Club and Body Architecture, Inc.) she suggested I try Kinesio Tape to help with the pain. I was very skeptical at first, considering I have had several elite orthopedic surgeons work on my feet and fail to subdue the pain, but I felt at this point anything was worth trying. It took Lori 5 minutes to properly apply the tape to each foot. I noticed the difference instantly. Just walking around the rest of the day my feet felt better. I was able to keep the tape on for a few days and complete my full rehab routine to strengthen my feet each day. The Kinesio tape helps correct muscle function, improves circulation, relieves pain and repositions subluxed joints. The physio tape has jump started me body's own natural healing process. With Lori’s help and knowledge of Kinesio tape treatment I am confident I am on my way to a pain free life.
